New Yorkshire Lass

Post by lara lane »

Hi Everyone,

I got my R1100S last August and am currently preparing for a trip to Romania on it. Have got most of the luggage sorted, just need inner bags for the panniers and to do something with the seat to make it a little more comfortable.

I tried the Rawna 'waterproof' inner bags selling on ebay at the moment but they wouldn't even fit in the cases - fortunately I got a full refund. Does anyone know what the Mane Event and Kathy's Journey Designs ones are like?

As you will see below I'm a Honda convert. I originally went looking for a VFR for better luggage for the forthcoming trip. However, I didn't like the VFR's and fell in love with the BM when a local bike shop suggested I try that instead. Totally shocked my other half! The Fireblade will be up for sale when I get back...

Hi Lois

Welcome to the site. Always good to add to the Yorkshire contingent!

A mate of mine has Mane Event bags for his 1200GS - they loom really well made and haven't let him down yet. They actually fitted his panniers better then the BM inner bags I had on my 1200GS.

p.s. You could always keep the Blade as well you know!

Hi Lois

mane event bags are fine. Cheaper than the real thing but if I remember you need to print off the order form from the site and post it. They were delivered in about 5 days AND they fitted.

Hi Lois. My brother has some Mane Event bags for his Pan Euro. They seem quite decent.

I'm sure you made the right choice over the viffer.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. You all seem to have positive things to say about the Mane Event bags so I'll be getting some of those, just printed off the form.

As for keeping the 'blade, Stoney, garage space is the limiting factor... (The 600 is my rally bike since I can touch the floor easier on that and it would be a wrench to let it go after 16 years!!)

Cheers
