PILOT Road CT2's Fitted Today

Post by timbox2 »

Ok, so after the Road Attacks wearing so quickly, and on inspection today the front had started to split in a couple of places, thought I would go for the Tyre everybody raves about, fitted today at protyre £220.

Now,Ive only riden 50 miles so far but, the low speed handling feels really stiff compared to the Road Attacks, and in general seems to require alot more input from me for cornering, has anybody else noticed this and will it get better as I get used to them?

Cheers
Tim

PS: Thats 3000 miles out of the Conti's and as the Tyre Fitter said at Protyre, the front was totally knackered, not good really for the tyre BMW themselves are promoting.

Hi Tim,

my set of Contis lasted 7k and 4.5k (puncture forced switch - head still 2k min. left)...i dont know how you managed to shred yours in 3k...maybe the asphalt is more grippy in Wales and wears them out quicker...

just my thoughts..see you soon.

When I first has the Road 2ct fitted, I was really pissed off. They felt naff.
300 miles later was raving about them, they bedded-in beautifully and instead of feeling like they were on marbles, felt really planted.

Hope they improve for you

Had a Pilot Road CT2 fitted to the rear today to match the front.

Talk about transforming the handling - I (ahem) let the old tyre get a bit square...

Feels great, quick to tip over, much more feel than I'm used to and plenty of grip - from what I can judge zipping round London.

Looking forward to a proper test out.

If I am ever on life support - Unplug me......

Yeah, I put PR2 on my Ducati ST2 I got just short of 12000Km on them and that was with a track day thrown in between, fantastic tyres, So I thought I would put them on My Beemer, ordered them and helped to fit them and a couple of days later while I was cleaning both my bikes I thought the tread pattern looked different, checked them and sure enough, different tread patterns, checked again and it turns out the tyres I now have fitted to my R1100S are the Pilot Power 2ct, (for the price of PR2) am I chuffed :D
I am very happy with the PPs and don´t know wether I would go back to the PR2s except possibly when I go on holiday. Anybody got any ideas as to how long the PPs will last?

Un saludo

Karlos
