Weather at Brands

Post by tyrap »

Despite the forecast, 3 of us journeyed to Brands to contest the pre-injection 600 class with Northern club, Derby Pheonix. First day depsite one of us crashing at Surtees :? , we had dry conditions for most of the day :P . However, the last race for all fo us was held in horrendous conditions. A blizzard decended as we started the sighting lap. Racing towards Paddock in driving hail after the start, was heart in mouth stuff. Anyway, survived without incident but on the warm down lap my head gasket went so that meant I couldn't do the second day. One of the guys, whlist lying third yesterday, highsided at Druids and ended up in hospital (same guy who went off at Surtees the day before so his wife is not particularly happy! :( ). So pretty normal club weekend for the three of us!!

On a positive note, checked with the the club secretary and my recently aquired BC '04 would be elligable for the Thundersport class. :o Is there is anyone out there who has campaigned one of these bikes in club racing? please let me know.

Anyway, happy easter to everyone and lets hope the roads in Yorkshire are dry tomorrow for a ride......... :D

All the best, and ride safe

Sounds like an eventful weekend. I hope your mate and your bikes are on the mend soon.

If you take a look for some posts by a guy on here called "twodear" you will see that he's been racing an R1100S out in Oz for the past year or so.

All the best,

Paul
You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

Ha! Should've come to Donnington. Weather was lovely all weekend - and I'm not lying. OK it was cold. and it snowed sometimes. But the sun kept on breaking through and, honestly, we went out for all four races over the weekend on slicks! Result!

Tony Macbride was the guy that campaigned the BCR 2 seasons ago. His missus is the club sidecar rep so let me know if you need anything in particular cos I can probably get in touch.

Thanks for the contacts for the racing guys, I'll follow up over the coming months as I work my way into to BC ownership. Donnington sounds fanastic, racing there in a few months. Love Cramer........
