front wheel/disc spokes

On the front wheel the discs are held on by 5 bolts that go through a bobbin and wave washer before entering the thread on the 'spoke' of the wheel. When first produced there was nothing between the disc and spoke. This can cause the top of the spoke to wear away as the wheel is not strong enough. There was an update to put some washers/spacer on the top of the spoke to stop this wear. If the top of the spokes become to worn they can cause the disc to become uneven on the wheel.
I hope the above makes sense. I think it has happened to me and is felt as a pulsing through the front brake lever. I shall try new discs to see if it is just worn discs. However, my question is: has this happened to anyone else? can the spokes be smoothed/filed flat and a spacer put in to even out the lateral play.
