Last year got pulled on the motorway in my Sprinter, yards from the exit were i live, was witnessed to to have handled a plastic bag while crawling along in 3 lanes of traffic doing all of 5 miles an hour, and was deemed not in full control, you can go to court or take 3 points and 60 quid which i didn't it wasn't worth hassle,ha ha.

The problem being,my licence says offence code MS60 and the insurers have never heard of it,and to say it's makeing life a little difficult would be some kind of understatement,so much so cuz they don't know what it is most of e'm won't even quote a renewel even with max no claims, and thats the only endorsement

Andrew S might have a idea but i'm sure he's not the only one in the trade, any offers??

Is that and 'Marks & Spencers' carrier bag fine?
Not funny really. I know how much of a pain points and endorsements can be.
On another subject......i saw a bloke try and go round a roundabout with a phone in each hand today; one was pressed to his ear and the other was in the palm of the hand trying to steer the car.....his fingers just touching the steering wheel. Needless to say he was well wide in every apex!

Hi Chris,

Being honest we only issue the tickets and DVLA or as in Scotland the clerk at the court endorse licences.

There is an offence to drive without being in proper control of a vehicle, used to use this one before mobile phone offences became law.

chris,

hope this explanation helps,

every fixed penalty issued has an offence code but that code is not the same as the offence conviction code :?

most offences that carry points on conviction are given an offence code ie sp30 etc, which insurance companies recognise

offences like---parking on hard shoulder, driving on hard shoulder, stopping on motorway all carry 3 points if convicted and have fixed penalty codes but do not have offence conviction codes that can be put on your licence, hence these offences, and lots of others will just appear as MS60 offence not covered by other codes

like you say,its a case of explaining the offence to your insurance and hope they have it.
