Post by stoney »

I've just ordered a PUIG racing screen for the R1200s from the states - no pics so bit of a gamble...watch this space.

Anyone else seen one?

I've just had an email saying release is due next week.

Are PUIG German?

Where did you order yours from? I got mine for £60 delivered from ridenow in USA, which is what you pay for a K12s screen over here. No sites are listing the R1200s screen in the UK yet.

Is that a double bubble type? I could do with a new screen for mine as I have some odd scratches on the inside which are a bit of a mystery.

Can anyone recommend a product for polishing scratches out of perspex? Nothing too abrasive.

Hi Folks,

Theres a story on an F800 board that I frequent about double bubble screens focusing sunlight on the plastic dash and melting it:

Since the R1200S instruments are equally "rugged" in their construction, that could be a problem for you to. One of the guys who experienced a melted dash was in Manchester, just before you think its those 'merikins with there infernal sunny weather having all of the problems.

Apparently the problem occurs with the clear screens rather than tinted, and can be prevented by running tape up the line of the creases on the bubble to stop them focussing light.

cheers,

Paul
You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

Spanish I think. I've heard they make good stuff but no personal experience.

Ditto that re some screens for the Blackbird - seems a fairly widespread problem.
