I didn't even know there was a Sargent seat until Sunday's post...

Since my back-end went upwards (for various reasons) I too have been crushing my nads driving round town...and creating my own kind of step in the seat...

Whilst probably useful in restricting the number of mini-me's running around the world, it is...a pain.

From the pictures, it looks like the customs are a little flatter going backwards and (from what I have read here) a little fuller at the front?

So...

Recommendations (and reasons) please before I spend two flights to Mexico on something with a colour coded trim...

PS. I don't care about the pillion provision, but any improvements would be a useful "selling" point...

Wunderlich do one with a hump at the front to stops crushing you buns,i took a picture to a local seat re-coverer,bought a spare seat just in case he balls it up,i've ridden with that seat now for what? 4/5 years.

I'm using a Sargant's, I couldn't take the stocker any longer. It's not perfect but it is a vast improvement.

The stock one was taking it's toll on the nads.

I have a Sargent on my 99. It is better than the Bill Meyers,Stock,or Corbin I tried. Butt still not perfect.

Ah well...

My Sargent arrived yesterday (colour coded and everything)...I will use/test it in due course.

I can't believe I wrote "I don't care about pillion provision" in the original post, but looking at the date of the posting 'twas shortly after a romantic trip to the Black Forest.

I don't mind the stock seat, but Jude complained about hers. We spent 350 euros (about £220) to get this one from the BMW dealer here in France. It has gel front and back and she chose the colours. Makes it worth a trip to France. see this thread viewtopic.php?p=42873#42873.

Just did 650 miles on mine on Monday, I definately need a more comfortable seat. I am open to any info on the subject.

CC MAC, I got a Corbin for mine last year, complete with back-rest (albeit we have only used the back-rest twice).

It is very comfortable both front and rear, however my only major reservation is that the seat feels wide at the front ie sore inner thighs just below the groin after long runs.

Dont know if its because the seat still has to "shape" a little or just me holding on too tight with my thighs.

The only other thing might be the weight; they are much heavier than the standard seat. Luckily I am not the kind of guy to worry about such things as everything is relative ie I weigh almost 20 stone, so a couple of pounds extra in the seat matters not a jot to me, although I appreciate it may be of concern to other, more waiff-like characters.

Other than that I cant really fault the thing; almost no slide, comfy on the back for the bint and it looks good with the colour-coded stitching.

Good luck with the search.

I was looking at either getting one of these , if a lttle expensive or getting P&P seating to do something similar.

I'm guessing you don't like it. I might have to do something with mine. My first 120 mile have made my bum ache where the inside of my hip bones rest on the seat. The bum bone, you know what I mean. I'mliking the look of the rebuilt one with a gel insert.

I'm getting used to it.

Initially felt like I needed 4 inch shorter legs and 4in longer torso/arms...

Probably not helped as my arse is perhaps not as well upholstered as it might be...so I'm feeling a tad like I'm perched on a fence...

It's getting better though...

And will get the old one re-done anyway at some point.
