Here in south yorkshire-on-sea, the local Wickes has taken to selling sandbags (79 pence each, nice traditional sewn-by-prisoners hessian stuff) in a big pile by the tills. The sandbags are empty. Thoughfully, there's a pallet of building sand (£1.39 for 20 kg) next to it.......in bags!
Am I missing something?

Brilliant! The sand in the waterproof plastic bags should do a bit better job of keeping the tides at bay than the burlap ones

You should have got hold of the manager and asked him
