SCOTLAND ROUTES

Hi to all,
especially the guys in Scotland as I am seeking your wisdom.
When I got my baby a month ago I went to stay at Killin for a long weekend as an excuse to test the bike.I am going back up to Scotland on the 14 to the 17 of July and my yearning for Scottish roads and scenery isn't satisfied.Me and my mate (I only have one) on a fireblade are looking at the west side to central again.
All suggestions for routes for a couple of 200 to 300 mile a day ride outs would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Parky.

The A82 is good up to Glen Coe then turn left for the old road round the loch up to Kinlochleven. From there back down the A828 to Oban and possibly across to Inveraray.

You could get the Corran Ferry and go round Moidart.

The road from Blairgowrie to Tomintoul, via Braemar is a belter..

Further north the roads are all good if you get the weather.

The Trixters are in Pitlochry the weekend of the 21st...

Check our Recommended Products/Services on this site for a couple of routes I did last year. The Fortwilliam>Ullapool route was somewhere in the region of 300 odd miles if I remember correctly and the home ward stretch was bloody hard work (tight and twisty coast road). Apparently, if your out this way the road from Tornapass to Applecross is well worth a visit. I must confess that by the time I got this far round I was so bloody knackered that I could'nt face it.

Hope the weather is kind. Some hope

You need to come on the 21st, there's a distinct lack of 1100S riders at the moment :( . so far we have ( I think):

1200S x 3
1200GS x 2
1200R
1150 GS
Keith's bike?
Which ever of his stable Al decides to use

and 1 x 1100S for certain.

Need more 1100S's. Any more Scottish day trippers coming along?

Cheers

I did'nt realise this was on and will definitely try and make it on the Saturday. What are you intending to do after meeting up / coffee on the Sat afternoon ? I see from the events board that some folks are staying the weekend and some will be combining the trip whilst on hols.

Scotty.

I am leaving Aberdeen about 1pm on the Friday, heading up towards Alford, Tarland, Dinnet then onto Braemar for a cuppa, before heading over the mountain and down into Pitlochry via Moulin.

Looking to be in Pitlochry for 4pm. You are more then welcome, if you wish to join me for the run.

If you cant make the Friday, then hope to see you for drams and shennanigans on the Saturday!

Not sure what the vote is yet for the Saturday blast but I think people are looking to leave Pitlochry by about 10am. You may get hard and fast details nearer the time.

Hope to meet-up.

Leasky.

Thanks. That's a great route you are using to get over to Pitlochry and roughly the same one I used a couple of weeks ago. Pop into Tarland Golf Club for your coffee break in the morning........you don't have to be a member and you'll get a pot of coffee and a kit-kat for about £1.

I'm not sure if I can make it on the Friday but certainly want to come down on Sat although I probably will be heading on up to Inverness in the evening as I have relatives there. Is everyone meeting in Pitlochry at 4.00pm for a coffee and shinwag ?

I am intending coming along for a day out. I could bring either my 1100S or my 1200S, it depends on whether I'm in a practical frame of mind or just sportsportsport.

Hi Parky,
Hope you have a good time... I'm planning on a first-time Scotland trip up to Oban and thereabouts on Monday 16th for a couple of nights. Any good B&B's to be had?
As you're just down from the road from me - I'm in Scarborough - we'll have to meet up for a spin sometime? I just tried sending you a pm but it seems to be happy enough just sitting in my Outbox... along with some other ones... i'm baffled.

All - sorry not to have made the Yorkies breakfast run... work stopped play.

Cheers

Now - you had a perfectly servicable 1100s before you defected to the dark side

Al (the yellow bike is looking favourite right now)
