Can anyone tell me if there is a problem using an optimate II with the canbus system on my 1200s?
the user manual for the bike says to disconnect the battery before charging? I have connected the trailing lead direct to the terminals on the battery, but as soon as I power on the optimate, it blows the inline fuse!!
(twice)

Thanks chaps, but I've sorted it now. I presume that I blew the original fuse when I took the lead of my 1100s, so I bought a pack of 3 fuses, all of which were either dud or blew as soon as the power was turned on
so a new pack of fuses purchased, tested and working perfectly
what are the chances of a pack of 3 fuses all being duff????
I dont get on with this new fangled electrickery stuff!
cheers

You should wire the optimate direct to the battery without any inline fuses. That way - if you have to charge the battery with a normal charger - the higher current flow won't blow the fuse.
There really is no reason to fit a fuse.
