Hi guys...Have been looking at the hattach rear seat conversion thing and was just about to buy when i found a major fault ( for me that is)...
If i put a box on it, when i get on im going to kick it... same as i would if i get a a BMW rear bag to fit on the seat...so have been looking at a ventura rack and fitting a Givi box to that....has anybody done this or if some one has a ventura rack, do you think it would hold the weight of a 52litre box loaded.....
Any help would be appreciated as im going away in september to lausitz ring and do love my givi box as it keeps my stuff dry and secure.. Chhers lads..Andy..

I don't think the Ventura rack base would be deep enough to fix a Givi onto.
Also I don't know if the arms would be strong enough.
Not only that......it'd look a right dogs dinner....if that bothers you at all!
Bailey.

My experience of Ventura stuff (on a Guzzi, but the designs are similar for all bikes) is that it definitely wouldn't be up to taking a 52 litre box. Well, empty maybe, but not full!

If you have luggage on the pillion seat you just need to get on the bike differently - slide your right leg over the rider seat instead of swinging it over the back. Getting off is the same in reverse. It's a bit unnatural but entirely possible unless you've had a hip replacement.....

As long as the luggage doesn't interfere with your riding position (i.e. isn't mounted too far foward) a few seconds 'discomfort' mounting and dismounting the bike isn't so bad. I use a tail pack a lot so I'm used to it.

Hi,instead of swinging your leg over ive found you can step through the gap between box and fuel tank.Ive got a 52 litre givi maxia and its no problem.

Or you could fit the factory panniers (50L) plus the 1200S tankbag and a small tailpack---Sport-Sport-Tourer, Works for me and a ready market here for all the bits if you decide to ''move on'' in the future. Now that the bikes reasonably clean I'll try and post some pictures in a day or two.
