Can anybody help me. I have unfortunately managed to shear the bleed nipple off on the rear brake caliper, and have been informed by BMW that niether they or Brembo sell the bolt that holds the bleed nipple onto the caliper. Therefore, they say, I have to buy an entire new caliper!!!!!!!!
Does anyone have any idea where I can get the bolt from? Or will finding and asking a local fabricator be my best bet?
I really need help as I casn't enjoy my commute until it's fixed, as I'll have to take the car.

Hi Pastyman.
You can use an Easy out tool to remove the remnants of the bleed nipple from the holding nut. I don't know if youv'e used one before but its basically a left hand thread tap that grips whats left in the hole and unscrews it as you screw it in. Costs about a tenner for a kit at most motor factors.
BMW main dealer workshops, as with most, mainly employ fitters not mechanics so they would not try to fix the caliper just replace it.
Cheers Cobbster.

Hi Pastyman
If you use a easyout, be careful as they are harden and hence brittle and its not unknown for them to break if the bolt etc is seized solid.

Very common problem. Get a stainless bleed nipple and holder - About £16 motobins

Thank you to all who have posted a reply, I had already tried one of those lttle tools, but with no success. Motobins have my order. Although it did say the bleed nipple screw would not fit an R1100S. I live in hope.
Thanks once again.
