One for Gromit ? (Remus exhausts !)

Post by bcr_rep05 »

Hi,

I read one of the posts on the forum where Gromit was offering advice
about the two types of Remus system for an R1100S.
Apparently one type seems restrictive ??
I ordered Remus pipes for my '05 BCR when I was buying but I didn't
realise that they could be more restrictive than the current Lasers.
Can you give me more details as to which Remus system is good and
which one brings the bike down in power ?
I presume the 2-2 system is where there are two seperate cans under
the tail piece ? If that is so, what form does the "good" system take ?

Thanks in advance for your help,
Mark.

The 2 in 2 delivers the most power gain afaik. Neither should deliver less than stock.

But given that the Laser's are supposedly more free flowing that stock,
could the Remus 2-2 be more restrivtive than those ?
What does the other Remus system look like ?

I had a Remus Race, 2 into 2 from memory - came with the bike, not installed.

Put it on, totally killed the 'top end' of the bike (what little there is) without boosting the mid range noticably and didn't sound very special.. may have improved with a chip and dyno time..

took it off and sold it for £200.

They may have changed the design (the bike is from 2000) since, but I believe that the Race was the not good Remus..

Try giving Darren at Motorworks 0845 458 0077 a ring from recollection he ran 2 in to 2 remus, bbpower chip and induct.

I would say all you need is the remus/lazer y piece they both fit with your cans and you will get a lot more noise. Get the chip as well, laser not adjustable, bbpower 5 settings including stock.

The remus 2 into 2 look great though

Nick - I've got the 'other' Remus system. It has an empty collector box instead of the cat, then 2 pipes out from the collector into the cans. Apparantly it boosts the mid range grunt I think. Works for me anyway!

Yeah that's the link !
I think I'll cancel the order for those Remus cans. Too much negative
reports about them. Maybe I'll just go for the Y piece instead.
