I have been thinking of getting a redesigned saddle for my r1100s and followed a link from this site to boxer-design.de where I found what looks like a very comfy seat. 8)
What I would like to know is has anybody had their saddle done by this company, and if so is it worthwhile? was the experience of sending the saddle and getting it back again a painless one? :?
Any help or alternative companies would be greatfully appreciated. :D

alternative after market saddles for the 1100S were produced by Corbin in the US - including one with a small backrest.

If i recall, those that got em said that they were significantly heavier than standard.

Yes, I can confirm they are very heavy. Not sure of the exact weight ( I am not in Uk at the moment so cant go and weigh the article) but I would say atleast 2 or 3 times heavier then the standard seat.

Having said all that; they are very comfy and the back rest is ideal when 2-up. It slides into a machined slot integral to the seat and is secured in place with a small grub-screw.

They are not cheap but worth the money in my mind for the comfort alone, not to mention the "look" of the bike. The set comes with 2 heavy stainless screws for the cowling, which also sets it off well.

My only gripe was that the moulding under the seat at the front, where the 2 supporting "rollers" fit to pins on the frame, does not prevent forementioned "rollers" from sliding off pins. I had to glue my second set on. Other then that, no problems.

My seat (and the rest of the goodies also) may well be available in a couple of months. I have applied for an overseas posting and will be selling car and bike if I get it. I shall keep you all well informed.
