Luggage - not pannier related

OK, thinking about luggage at the front end of the bike here, not panniers, pannier related, pannier bags, throwovers or any incapacity to have any of the above!

Right, has that fended off the sh**storm?....

I have an S of the 11 variety. What's the options for tank bags? I see loads on fleabay so what's the difference between S, RS, RT, GS stuff? They all seem to have a strap around the headstock and one or two that go under the front of the seat. What makes the S one unique? How much can you actually get in them, 'cos they seem rather small? I have an Oxford expandable one with a magnetic base that can take quite a lot, but I'm aware that has to be offset with seeing the clocks etc.

Don't mention Baglux as mine's a bumblebee and I've only seen one yellow cover come up (though I'd happily use a black bag and avoid yellow). Unless you've a yellow one floating around....

And don't get smart giving me photos of WWII combinations with rolls strapped to the fork legs either - there's always (at least) one!

General consensus is buy black - black goes with any colour and is easier to sell on.
I use Baglux and got my cover cheap via Baglux.co.uk in their clearance section but nothing on there at present for the 11S.
Got a Baglux Alpha bag off eeeeBay which takes a lot of stuff but I find that it digs into my chest. Lots of other bags to choose from though.
Would buy another Baglux with no hesitation.
Bags not waterproof but you get a waterproof clear cover with them.

If you are looking for a "Sport Sport Sport" tankbag

Have a look at FAMSA bags at Windingroads?

I have the smallest of them, and am quite pleased with it :D

 that's a refreshingly frank admission Al, but probably not something to share on the web

Pity those things only last about 3 months (if used daily).

they're not UV resitant enough and become stiff and crack. :( I went through about 3 in a year before I gave up on the tank-bag (each replacement was free - Bagster UK give good customer service).

I have the Fama and am very pleased with the fit, the quality and the mobility of it. Great. It zips on which can be fiddly at first.. but when you get use to it..Brilliant
