The lively banter and jokes passed around; this evening though and old mate who now lives in Bedfordshire posted this ( his son is a good MX'er, hoping to buy a competitive bike ):
Another MX bike stolen, this time a Honda CG 250 and two 110cc thumpers, we advertised them on ebay, this guy won the CG250 but didn't turn up twice to pick it up, then they were nicked 1 am the next morning. I have CCTV cameras covering my bikes so we watched the whole thing happen the next morning, transferred the video to Disk for the police, who, guess what? have never turned up, surprise surprise.
So what do you tell your 17 year old son who wants to beat the crap out of the guy who won the bike?
1) Leave it and let the police handle it? (laughable)
2) Beat the crap out of the guy and get a criminal record and probably sued? (f*ck your own life up)
3) Do nothing and let another scum bag get away with it (tear yourself to pieces inside) I'll be f*cked if I know what to do, the only logical option is no 3
What should he do?

Challenge the police.............
Send a letter to the Chief Constable, listing all the evidence that you have available and ask what is being done, seeing how a lot of the detective work has been done for them.
If he doesn't respond or responds in the negative, send him one more letter asking:
a) Do thieves normally make a fool of him to this extent?
b) Does he think he is doing a good job?
Then copy all correspondence to the press.
It's all very well for them to claim lack of resources, but that isn't our problem. He gets paid plenty to make the correct representations for resources.
If we all sit and think - "They're doing as much as they can with the resources available" then we do everyone a disservice.
Al
(rant over.............. for now)

Al's right. If the polis aren't interested, the press probably would be. Get your cooncillor involved, and your MP. If you live in a tory area, find a local labour loudmouth, and vice versa. If you live in lib-dem area, find a tory and a labour loudmouth. If you live in a BNP area get a lynch-mob.

Just tell the police that the bikes have small number plates and have been overheard telling jokes about a one legged, unemployed, black, Welsh lesbian. The whole force will be around before you can put the phone down.
Not their fault but that of their political masters who tell the Judges not to jail criminals as the tosser of a chancellor refused money to the Home Office to build more prisons leading to an acute shortage of free prison places even with the farcical premature early release of those considered a low threat to the safety of society which doesn't even provide enough spaces to accommodate paedophiles so they are now sat in a pub across the road from the local primary school rather than being locked up in one of the cells recently vacated by some scumbag that is now going around stealing bikes from honest folk that advertise on ebay. See, you got me going on this. Option 2 gets my vote.

Maybe when they introduce road charging those little trackers that they will fit to our bikes will help the police locate the thieves more easily.

Well, I am with Neil178 on this one; option 2 seems too good to let go.
Hows about getting some-one else to do the beating? I am sure there are certain individuals who would dish out a summary seeing-to for a minimal financial outlay. In fact, get that one on camera for posterity sake, just dont show the police the wrong video when and if they ever turn up to take your complaint.
Kill them all; let God decide.
The above is obviously all tongue in cheek. I would never condone violence, let alone towards someone who had just stolen a bike
With any luck their next patch of heroin will be too pure and they will simply let go of the mortal coil and slide away in their own filth enduced coma.
Rant over. I thank you.

Much too difficult!!
Easier to use it to target people who register and tax their vehicles and live where they say they live and so are easy to get hold of. Then they do not need to do it themselves and can use low-level operatives to do it for them.

I know some very nasty people. Well...you wouldn't mess with them, put it that way - real trained killers.
I'll have a word if you like

All thieving scum should have a pick axe put through their spinal cord.
Then strung up from the nearest lampost and a burning tyre stuck over their head.
A bit of that should deter anyone else from giving it a go.
Firm but fair.
