What are you guys running tyre pressures at? I only ride solo; the manual says 32/36 but this lacks precision & I can't feel whats going on. Metzler recommend 36/42 but this goes the other way, nice & direct but not enough grip! Have tried somewhere in between but I'm still not convinced.

Tim.
I stick with 36 / 42. I'm running michelin pilot sports. Sorry to say that everytime i have been out the weather has been bad, so can't give a full analysis yet, having only owner the bike for about 2 months.
I had a R1200RT before theS, kept to the factory recommended pressures, and wrecked the rear in under 4000 miles, so now i think i'll use a slightley higher pressure for longevity.

The manual tyre pressures are wrong, as with the R1100S manual as well.
The tyre pressure you should run is 36/42, although I always run 35/40 as recommended by a suspension expert.

...Michelin Power Race medium compound...
...front : 33.4

...and on a warm day they feel very sticky...

36/42 should be ok, but do keep in mind that sports tires do not perform optimally at temperatures < 10C, as they then have a hard time getting up to temperature. Lowering the pressure a few pounds can help, but do not expect knee dragging grip in this weather.

I've been running my M3s at 32/36 and they feel great - if anything they sometimes feel a bit hard.
I may try a bit harder as recommended and see if there is any difference.
