Instrument Cluster - Can you dismantle them?

Post by gripperod »

As my move back to the UK starts to get more likely (since they obviously arent going to try to bribe me to stay!) I am starting to look at making the bike UK legal. Ive just bid for an instrument cluster on fleabay, if its off an ABS model I assume it should be a straight swop yes? If its not, is it possible to dismantle the cluster and fit the speedo only into my cluster?

I will start my "thieving b***ards thread viz Customs and Excise elsewhere

The separate speedo sections are easily changed from kmh to mph.
You'll be able to sell your old speedo on ebay.

Because, I am told, there are so many different part numbers for speedos, I just changed the faces on ours. There is a thread running on this subject.
