Looking at replacing the brake pipes front/rear as bike is 6 years old. I know that HEL and Goodridge are good makes but why such a price difference.
I have been quoted for HEL for between £55-£65 and then about £130 for Goodridge (these are all SS with banjos etc).
Are HEL as good as I thought they were or just cheap priced good quality.
I have put Goodridge on my Fazer 600 in past and have had no issues at all.
Which would you go for and why?
And before you say it yes I am looking at bypassing the BM metal pipework!
Also, is it worth replacing the clutch line?

Hel
Hi Joe,
I have recently purchased a set of the HEL lines, all Stainless with clear covering, 2 full line front and the single rear of course. I've had Goodridge in the past and went for the HEL as they are advertised as same spec, as far as my requirements are concerned, and they are a lot cheaper, but be careful of any "quotes " you get as a few will mis-lead you with front only prices.
I have been very pleased with the HEL kit and i can confirm it's a lot cheaper than other named brands. Beware the universal kits have rather bulky end fittings which may be considered unsightly.
As for the clutch line, I would reasonabily expect these to be under a lot less pressure, has anyone heard of a failure, as long as you inspect the line for damage(chaffing, crimping) and you have no other reason to suspect problem, then it should not be a concern.
My money is on HEL. If you want of photo of the lines fitted let me know.
Cheers
Ivor

I have been very happy with HEL in the past (CBR600F and Fazer 6 kits) .. 24/7 Bike Parts sell them on e-Bay for £20 a line ... and also the factory will do a "made to measure" service for no extra cost (I have just sent off the lines from my Bonneville to be made up as no specs are listed). They do nice stainless nipples too (if you are in to that sort of thing
)

Re: Hel
Don't you believe it -the clutch line corrodes, and leaks. I see quite a few that come in with it leaking. I'm having some stainless clutch lines made. I've got some here to fit a GSivorbaines wrote:.
