Information overload
Hello All.
Joined a couple of weeks ago after talking to Darren at Motorworks. Overwhelmed at the ammount of information available. Found answers to almost every question I have. Started biking five years ago at 55, did a direct access course. Bought a'98 1100S (red) from a friend in April, first BMW and love it. Currently in bits on the garage floor after Astle BMW in Grimsby quoted £320 for a 12000 mile service. Bought the service parts, and a workshop manual CD on e-bay. Whilst stripped serviced and cleaned have added Remus Y piece, K&N, Strebel horn, pannier rails. Other bike is an '86 VFR 400. Hope to meet up with some of you when the events get started again. Geoff.

Welcome Geoff,
There will be a few trips next year no doubt, get yourself along to one or two, you will not be disappointed. Take a look at the photo section to see what we get up to, also look at the past Burton and Hawes posts.

A man can fall many times in life but is never a failure until he refuses to get up
Welcome aboard Geoff
Good to see new members with an R1100s, and not one of these new-fangled 1200s Doo-Dahs
Can I sell you a tub to keep all the spare nuts and bolts you'll have over from your service?

Thanks for all the warm welcomes. Managed to find a home for all the bits so far. Astles offered me the loan of a 1200S but I knew it might be too much of a temptation, and £320 for a sixty mile round trip? Also servicing it myself was a great way of getting to know the bike. Word of warning! don't drop a battery terminal bolt, took me an hour to take everything off again plus the battery tray.
Geoff.

Why do I keep thinking 'Bertie Bassett' when I see the Red/Silver 12S?. Do you think they'll ever produce 1 in pure DDP for me?
