I've got metzler roadtec Z6 front and rear on my R1100 SS. Can you suggest anything different? Z1,Z3 pilot road etc. I am looking around to replace the tyres and would be greatful for advice on different tyres that suit the bike as well

, I ride fairly fast, cover commuting to work and the old Sunday ride out

. What does your bike wear, have you used Z6's before.
Thanks

Hi Pastyman
Have a go with the search function, it'll throw up loads of threads on your queries..
Tyres are an ongoing topic... engine mods have been discussed in great detail - both lead to multiple and sometimes conflicting threads
Welcome to the forum..

Depends on what you want out of a tire I guess. Do you want grip or longevity? They still don't go together. Do you want more grip the Z6 has to offer, or do you want better wear?

This time of year I'd want something that doesn't need 10 miles' riding to get it warm enough to grip, plus it's got to be good in shitty weather. I used M3 Sportecs previously on my bike which were excellent but tbh in the cold weather they'd be a bit of a waste.
Pick any of these:
Conti Road Attack: I've got these on the BCR and they're blummin' fab
Metz Roadtec: You're obviously familiar with these
Michelin Pilot Road.
Pirelli Diablo Strada: Basically a Roadtec with a funkier tread pattern (same carcass)
There's a new Bridgestone coming out soon - the BT-021 which will replace the good old 020.

Pilot Road at this time of year (for me). Better in the wet than Z6's more stable at speed, though a bit slower through the twisties. Fast warm up as well.

Pesrsonally,.. I stick with Z6's, .. everybody has a different opinion, .. but both my arse and my wallet scream Z6's, .. and usually as your Post Title Sugests,.. from Essential Runner N1, .. also handy for a 'Little Fetish Weekend Lesiure Wear'.

Wait till the begining of next year there'll be another interesting addition.

Richard i'd get lynched!!! but you might not be right.,although it was funny today, had to go and collect my S from a certain tyre company's 'DO' and the guys who were just packing the race car up were saying the BM had been such an oddity that no bugger looked at the car,as i said, almost as strange as the bloke who owns it!!!,and then had to tramp down the motorway in the pooring rain.

I've asked my dealer to fit Contis before delivering the bike to me.
Had them on blackbird, on track, with 151bhp at the wheel and they did fine. no problems at all.
