removing O2 sensor

Post by tripe »

Has anyone got a picture of what I am disconnecting under the body work? I know from previous posts that it is somewhere on the offside. Also can it be done without unbolting the petrol tank as with the lennies fitted it seems almost impossible to get the screw back in on that side.

If you follow the wire up from the sensor, behind the inlet duct it disappears under the left tank lobe. Just up out of sight, this wire is coiled in a loop, tie-wrapped to something solid. Some have been lucky to wiggle/encourage this loop free allowing access to the connector thus being able to disconnect. Those persons must have dexterous chopsticks for fingers. I had great hopes, for the same reasons as you. No chance. I had to release and prop the rear of the tank to do it.

I reckon the tank will need lifting up but it's only a 10 min job and will save damaging the sensor and/or cat
