I've had a centre stand kit lying around for a number of weeks and plan to fit it this weekend as the bike needs it's oil's changed etc. Any tips for fitting would be greatly appreciated. I pretty much know where it all bolts to the bike but can't figure out the best way to fit the two springs ie is it best to bolt the stand on and then fit the springs or get the springs clipped into position and then try bolting the stand into place.
I've got the little piece that prevents the stand whacking the torsion rod in the back wheel.

I got my spring on pretty easily - I thought I had done something wrong as people were saying that it was very tricky.
I got a long thick screw driver and hooked the spring onto it. Let it run down the screwdriver until it just rested onto the mount. I then pushed it on with another screw driver - do not use your fingers!!!

Got the stand fitted Saturday night and noticed that the stand sits very upright with the bike just getting onto the stand and no more. As it is there is a liklihood that the bike could rock forward if parked in certain places ie a slight downward slope. To make it more stable one really needs to either file down the two bolts that fit into the frame or file down the lugs on each side of the stand that comes into contact with these bolts when in the upright position. It works but I would'nt be too confident in using it for parking up so it'll be used for servicing etc when in the garage.
