Hi Guys

Had the 1100 in for a service today at Jefferies in Shipley. Test rode the 1200. :D It was wet so went carefully. what an engine. From 6000 rpm the bike nearly pulled my arms off. is this the power or the screen? Handling was sharp and it looked nice. Seat a bit boney for my liking and the bars a little lower, but it was smooth, made a nice noise for standard. loved it till 12 noon when my ass and legs started to ache and I could ride no more. took the 1100 for a blast and rung its neck. I had play in the rear wheel that was tightened so was lucky, handles great again :D

With all the trimmings its £10338 for the 1200

trade in 2003 sport package with 16000m just serviced ABS, heated grips full laser, bbpower chip, hugger, ventura and pannier rails plus cyclinder protectors best price £5200 trade in not sure if thats a good price? its not £5000 better than the 1100 but may be £3000.

I am sure the wife will be impressed when i mention it over a bottle of wine, may have to agree to her tummy tuck :)

There is no way the 1200S is £5000 better than the 1100S if at all in a lot of areas.

BMW rip you off with the price, pay top dollar on a new bike and offer crap on yours. Then tell you if you want to trade later that all the extra's you paid for a worth nothing to them on the trade in.

Well, I am speaking from experience. I think if you buy new, then you buy to keep for quiet a while.

Agreeed Andrew, about keeping for quite a while and also about the extras. I tend to remove the extras from teh equation tho and sell them seperately, if removeable. The GS Im part exing towards the R12s, Im removing the titanium remus and y piece and also the GS system panniers and bump stops etc

Have to agree with Andrew re trade in rip off but I am now the proud owner of a red & silver R1200S and it is FAB! Bought a demonstrator with sports pack and less than 2k miles on it for £7.5k and plan to keep it forever

Interestingly Bath Road wouldn't even take my 1100 in px against a new 1200 as "we already have 4 1100s on our books". Needless to say I bought elsewhere.

Kitkat,

Where did you buy the bike from, that is a good price.

Come on then Paul spill the beans, what was the deal you got.

I used Bike Trader website to search for deals and found it at SPC in Alton. They also have a black one with Remus cans for 79. A bit of a risk with a demonstrator but is unmarked and has not been dropped and still has 21 months warranty. Want to get a tinted screen like RoLoo's one and will get some throw on panniers for the odd w/end trip and then I am sorted. Having been stopped once by the men in blue (let off) I think I need to keep it in quiet stealth mode for a while

List on mine was £10337, with Ohlins, wider whell, grips and ABS

They offerred me £5200 for my 2001 GS, 18k miles with abs grips etc

They also dropped the price to £9500

Thought that was a good deal

Paul,

Did you manage to sell your BCR, what about the other bikes any luck in selling them?

The Tuono is sadly sold
The GS 1150 going in for the R12s
The BCR unsold but a few people wanting swaps / deals. I'm not sure what to do yet, but will probably make a decision in teh next couple of weeks and may strip the bits off as previously suggested (you have first dabs in teh Lennies)
The TRX 850 not sold yet but likely to keep that until I find either a TDM 850/900 or an old GS 1100

I was very tempted by the SPC demo. I'd been keeping an eye on the price on their website and it dropped from 8.5K to 8K, and then down to 7.5K. I was quite sad when it said it was sold :crybaby:
Congratulations on the purchase, though. How have you found it so far? Do you find you have to give it a big handful of throttle when you pull away? I'm still very tempted but I may wait until next year now.
