Thanks for those Paul, been waiting ages for some real pics of the new R12R - must admit to being very disappointed though. The only thing I am glad of though is they've not gone for the Speed Triple/Tuna/SuperDuke end of the un-faired market. This at least has a dash of practicality.

BMW should have taken a closer look at the Breva/Griso to see how to make a good-looking Roadster. This is just a mess. A collection of un-related parts cobbled together from a parts bin.

I don't think it looks too bad in black, but it isn't a great leap forward from the previous model, I grant you.

By your comments I should not hold out for you selling your induct and stainless steel spindle then.

Got to admit it does not seem to have changed much from the old model. As you say it seems a bunch of other models put together.

I've just bought a couple of other little goodies for the S today so you may have to wait a while longer.

The stainless spindle does look very smart though - just need to get a stainless bolt kit sorted; the oem bolts are looking a bit sh*te.

I have a set of Wilbers, extra stealth number plate holder, rear L.E.D light and black screen to fit.

That's pretty much the design brief for BM's Roadsters though - a basic(ish) bike with practical touches. As I've always found though, the somewhat staid exteriors often hide the seriously fun bike which lies beneath.

The looks of this one aren't growing on me much yet though. Those offset clocks look totally crap - as they do on the FZ6. Naffola.

It's got the 110bhp ST motor so it should go pretty well with a fair bit less weight to haul around.

If it has a shorter final drive than the ST I'd reckon it'll be pretty lively.

Although hardly blinding in looks, I like this one more than the last two Boxers BMW have churned out. At least it still has the looks and practicality of a BMW... rather than the pig-ugly ST (no offense to those who have one) and the new S, which (IMO) needs a bit more fairing to stop it looking top-heavy and some hard luggage option to stick the BMW practicality back in there (which is one of the major factors for me).

This may look a lot like the old model, but I reckon that's a good thing. Take the old bike which isn't too offensive, and slap a better motor in it. Not a huge change, but a worthwhile one.

Not that it matters... doubt I'll ever buy a Roadster.
