You couldn't make it up

Post by Jason M »

When I did my horn I somehow disabled my spyball alarm - result I thought - no more messing around with my alarm fob etc.

It's been like this for the last couple of months no problemo. I did however notice the other day that the S's lights flashed when I disarmed the Fazer with it's Spyball fob.... maybe you can see what is happening here...

I put my Fazer up for sale this week...

This evening I was messing around with the fuse box and saw one of the fuses looked 'melted' so I changed it - then the b'stard won't start.... bollocks... looks like an alarm thing. Change the battery in the S's fobs and try them both... nothing.... try the Fazers..... bugger me if it disarms the S and it starts.....

So... now I have 2 bikes and one alarm key fob.... How the FECK did that happen? So now I can't sell the Fazer because it has the only alrm fob that will start the S, and the spare Fazer fob is .... broken. Told you you couldn't make it up!

S**T B**GER BOLLOX and ARSE

So, this weekend I will alternating between surfing the internet finding out how to teach a spyball to recognise a new alarm fob and swearing at the top of my voice whilst hitting soft objects with hard hammers

The guy to talk to about Spyball is Tony at Jap and German. He is the oracle and sorted mine a few times.
I remember you have to short the special dangly wire bit. That's about it.
If uou're stuck I have a few spare spyball fobs which ain't cheap to buy new.

Excellent - I've had problems finding anyone that knows anything about the bloody things. I've had a look at the documentation and you're right about the dangly things - I need to get the right jumper to connect two wires then teach it the old fobs.

Even worse thing is that I can't arm the Fazer because there is a faulty (I know - my fleet of vehicles is like the Mir space stations - falling appart at the seams  ) switch under the saddle and it just goes off after 30 seconds or so for no apparant reason - this means that I have to wheel the flippin S up the road and out of fob range of the Fazer before I can use it to start the S - ho hum.....

Chears for that though Bailey mate - I'll give him a shout and ask him some advice.

I dont see any mention of a hammer anywhere. You,ve not going all technical on us are you?
Best thing to do is rip the bleeder out of the S.
Bloody alarms.I got stranded by one which went mad.I got mad and ripped the thing out at the side of the road.Took me a couple of hours and lots of retaping wires together. At least i got home under my steam. No breakdown cover at the time.

Had my previous 11S temporarily stranded in Munich after I parked it on the pavement at a mates...unknowingly outside a bicycle courier office whose transmitter blocked my fob.

A push down the road solved it, but only after a minor panic and a call to a very helful BMW roadside mechanic

I now live very happily without an alarm and sleep better knowing the damn thing won't go off in the middle of the night...

Ouch.... The truth always hurts the most

Yep - it's making a rare visit to the MC doctors to have a 'bleepadoctomy' next week. I've told them I'll strip her naked in the car park to minimise the fiddling required...

Jap and German quoted an hour at £50 which is great but a bastard to get to for me. The nearest spyball dealer in Basingstoke quoted £40 an hour and about 90mins to do

S   :P 'kin C quoted at least 2 hours at £135 + vat, which was nice. Apparantly the post coffee machine is running low this week
