Treated myself to a fresh front tyre today, before setting off to France on Thursday. Sadly, the tye fitter discoverd my front wheel bearings are jiggered. Called into SLM and Vines to get replacements, but neither had any in stock (ditto SPC). Vines have ordered some which should arrive tomorrow. I asked if they could fit them. Sure. Workshop is taking bookings for the end of June... Same story at SLM. Luckily my tyre place will do it for me tomorrow. Glad there's noting more serious I need from a main dealer at the mo...

No one is going to break down, Get lost or suffer any kind of incovenience whilst in foreign parts. The northern contingent should be at mine tomorrow afternoon and I should think we will be spending some time taking liquid refreshments as we sail down the Humber tomorrow evening!! See you and the southern softies on Friday for Tennis and drinks on the lawn!!!!

I just got back M. and Mme Gurr's this evening. A wonderful time was had by all as ever - wonderful hosts, wonderful roads, and despite best efforts of the weather forecast, Tony's choice of routes meant only a couple of showers (though one of these was on the road of doom!!! )

Thanks to Tony and Violet once again. I'm sure you guys will have a great time this week - i hope the weather is good for you.

Breakdowns? Let it be known that on the Monday 1st May, the last day of the 2nd weekend of the season, a 1200GS with 3,500 miles on the clock destroyed its gearbox. Rider took a plane home and the bike was fixed by the Friday. I went to pick it up (Cognac) and ran the box in last Sunday (ahem). Pleased to report that although I took it out with the firm intention of slating the machine, I was most impressed. Does everything my 1100GS can do with longer legs at the top end and superior brakes. Having said that I don't think it was any quicker overall and rather more sluggish accelerating through the gears (it's true that the engine is still very tight), but a very good tool for all that.
Weather is sorted this weekend for you lot and I'm toying with the idea of treating Alan to a cassoulet....

Probably a bit late now - you never know - I had to get my tyres the day I left for Tony's last week because of issues with the Bird's front wheel (ie it was discovered I needed a new one).

No. It's the sound of my knackered paralever bearings... Popped into SPC today for the extraction of several hundred quids to make them better before the rush to Portsmouth. See you tomorrow matey!
