Another novice question from the new boy. The seat cowling appears loose when attached to the seat. Despite the securing screws being tight, there still seems to be play. Is this normal?? Thanks again, Leasky.

When I bought mine the seat cowl was loose, check that the locators on the rear underside are not broken, if they are ok there should also be a piece of padding glued to the underside of the cowl that sits on top of the rear handholds area and this is what takes up the slack so to speak.

Thanks for that Al. Silly question but is there a prefered thickness to the padding and if not, is it somthing I can buy from a dealer,ie a proper BMW part?? Cheers, Leasky.

The dealer fixed mine after I noticed it was loose, the strip they put on is a bit like the door draught excluder stuff and is about 6mm thick and 12 mm wide and placed to line up with the area where release for the seat is. mine still moves a bit so it may be trial and error.
