Ello all.

Long time member Visordown buys BMW R1100S and comes over here to say hello.

Do I still count as a newbie and have to get the drinks in?

Welcome to the group :)

You'll probably find this place a calming and very civilised corner of the web after being on VD. ;)

No need to get the drinks in, we have bought out the world's suppply of '95 Margaux so just come in, sit down and fill yerself a glass. :)

(told you it was civilised)

Unfortunately our web host doesn't support file uploading so it means linking to a hosted pic elsewhere, using the image code etc.

What colour's your S btw? Black is the fastest of course... ;)

Windy,

Have hosted the file locally for you:

Nice colour!

Cheers,

You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

Ditto - very smart indeed. The S's reds have come a long way since DDP :D

Some black wheels and rocker covers would finish it off very nicely too. ;)

Looks just like mine, Tho' I've got the black engine - Shows up the dirt much better

Is that a steering damper I spy? I haven't yet got to play properly on my S - Do they waggle their heads under extreme provoking?? I've spun the rear out a couple times on greasy roads tho' and it seems to behave quite well and be quite controllable (fingers crossed).

Cheers, Dave

Decisive,

I think the steering damper is entirely superfluous on the 'S.

Paul.

Yeah I like the colour too, nearly as much as silver. Looks better with clear lenses, next add on for mine methinks.

Depends if you've got 'light wheels' (copyright PP)

steering dampers

Post by Ade B »

I have one on mine, its purely there to try to throw you off on cold days whilst filtering.

Got the s to waggle its head a teensy bit on a track day, never on the road - does this mean it works?

Nice colour

Now that's a really nice colour, welcome, never seen one that colour before. I'm a recovering DDP sufferer, I've been clean for 378 days now ! and don't listen to that Richard character, black is fastest, hmph, poppycock and balderdash. It's just so bland that nobody notices it

Right I'll just off and dig out my Nomex suit from last week shall I . . . . .

Welcome and enjoy, there's a wealth of knowledge to be searched for on the board from some very clever people, and some from dafty's like me too !

Cheers all - I like the colour too, but won't confess to that being a swaying factor in the purchase decision, for fear of sounding too much like a girl!
