There was an article about old Triumph Bonnies meeting at bar/cafe in New York (near Brooklyn Bridge I think).

If anyone has a copy to hand, appreciate if you could post the details as I'm currently in NY and wouldn't mind stopping by. It's a bit chilly here so I'll let ya know if they're FWB's or not.

Yo, Joobs, my man! Well, it must be November 'cos I've just scoured my December ish and all I can find is a 20 page pull-out-special on the joys of eating gizzard salad in the S.W of France :D

Have a good stay and bring me back one of those snowstorm thingies with King Kong in it, there's a good chap

I've just been to see King Kong in Times Square as it 'appens.

Naomi Watts - bit of a babe (albeit a tad on the skanky side).

Maybe it was Performing Berks & not Bike come to think of it.

p.s. There's some sort of swingers' party going on in the bar/pool area of my hotel right now. Not sure whether to be alarmed or join in like a typical French-man.

Old French proverb: "If dans le doubt, join in and shoot 'em all in le back"

:D

(I can say that 'cos I is Jewish)

Can't find the article at the moment, but, as I lived there a while, I *think* the picture of the meeting place was the "Sidewalk Cafe" in "Alphabet City" near Tompkin Square...

No idea what the time might be, but as the place is open 24/7 you should be able to pop in and ask...it's cheap and friendly there...

Julian,

I've had a quick flick through the Nov & Dec editions of bike, but can't find the article. I quick search on the interweb brought up this link for the British Motorcycle Club of Central New York, but unfortunately there is no info about regular meetings

Enjoy your trip and let us know how you get on with the swingers.

Cheers,

Paul

Found it...

It doesn't actually say, but the guy who runs it (Hugh Mackie) owns"Sixth Street Specials" on 6th Street, and it mentions hanging around 6th Street on a "chilly Saturday". And they are all parked outside the Sidewalk.

Well? Did you go? Did they make you wear a Cromwell helmet and stitch a "59" on your Armani? Is the whole British-bikers-in-New-York part of the gay scene?

tell all

Couldn't find the bike place despite us driving around for a fair bit. Maybe a bit to cold for folk at this time of year. It was ball-bustingly cold on Saturday.
