Big Changes for 2022

Well ..... It appears we at Chester Motorrad have decided we're leaving BMW this year and moving to KTM. .... the future is bright the future is orange :D

Hi Steve, thanks for info but is that just for ‘sales’ or is the service dept. still operating for the Beemers.

ultimately we'll still be able to offer BMW servicing as all the equipment/experience will still be here :D But sales, service and parts will all be none BMW franchise

I wonder why the dropping f BMW in favour of KTM ??

I wonder if there is a greater profit margin ?

Or maybe the KTM is the latest "have to have" cult bike ??

Sad though , but who knows why the powers that be make these decisions .

Good luck with the new venture ! :)

I know that many manufacturers make their dealers jump through hoops and can make profitability - difficult.
If I am ever on life support - Unplug me......

Have any of your colleagues from downstairs tempted you to try the HD Pan American yet? Any thoughts on how that compares to the BMW or KTM adventure bikes?
You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

This isn't going to affect you is it Steve? Except you'll be selling those orange things?

BMW increasingly want car and motorcycle franchises integrated. The car / bike dealers get better margins and so are able to deal better than us we were constantly selling bikes at cost to chase bonuses, which was a business model that was unsustainable.

So next time you nail every penny out of a deal and leave the dealer with no margin... Think on uh? Is it worth that extra couple of hundred quid to have a dealer in the network?

Looking forward to KTM to be honest.

It's orange.and it's mental.... Is there anything else to know :)

A few years ago I took out a 1290 superadventure. Having it hoist it's front wheel at 70 mph had my giggling like a kid... I said then if it had shaft the GS would be in trouble :)
