Catalytic converter

Post by hooperman »

I want to be able to use the R1100s within the London low emission zone, which will expand to within the North and South circular roads next month. There is one bike shop which can fit a catalyst, test the bike afterwards and provide a certificate which the DVLA will accept and thus register the bike as being permitted to enter that zone without having to pay the daily £12.50 fee. The charge by that bike shop would be circa £450. I have no reason to believe they would not do a good job but want to check with someone else who has had one fitted first. Has anyone heard of a catalytic converter being fitted to an R1100S or similar?

In addition to the standard cat? If so where do they put it? Just curious.

As above the R1100S originally came with a cat ?. There are numerous threads on other forums with happy outcomes after fitting a converter.
