Magnesium Head Cover Restoration

I'm torn between leaving age-related patina alone, or getting the head covers restored or replaced (£170-ish for a new pair). I'd quite like to keep the originals though, even if it costs around the same to get them professionally done (I don't know at this stage what it would cost). They do look a bit tatty down the leading edge though.

Any suggestions who might do the job - I'm in Buckinghamshire and very close to Northamptonshire? Anyone had them redone?

I had mine powder coated although it wasn't completely straight forward as there were lots of air holes in the castings

Yep he would do a good job. IMHO if you get them pristine it will highlight other areas that are looking patinised! I have done mine with aerosols and elbow grease with the flatting process. I would rub and rub with various grades, epoxy primer, base coat and finish with a 2k satin lacquer. so 3 tins of aerosols , a pearlescent base coat will cost up to twice as much as ordinary flat paint. so cost wise you will be outlaying £60 on mats. Preparation is the key to success here. Spraying is the easy bit. Rewarding job to do. I will say stones are no respecter of powdercoat or k2. Plus you will have paint left over to touch up.
