WTD - R11S indicator pods

Post by SLOSR11S »

Anyone have spare left and right indicator pods for the R11S they would like to sell? I don't mind if they they are scruffy etc but they shouldn't be cracked or broken. Wanted for a winter project. Thanks.

These things are very rare, I managed to get one side, but it was cracked. The plastic is not good as it goes brittle over time. I spent some time repairing all the cracks but how long they will last is any ones guess. I used some plastic weld and patches to cover the cracks and a hot glue gun for all the corners to strengthen them.

Used to see loads of these on eBay - now, next to none.........

Think you need to get on the phone to Motorworks, or even fitting C/F ones?

Here’s one on eBay, but you might not like the cost: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-R1100S-V ... SwPxRb0Shk

I guess one of the hazards of maintaining an old bike, which didn’t sell in huge numbers.

Thanks for the replies folks. Yes looks as though I may need to get on to Motorworks who do them for a comparatively reasonable £40 a pop. Planning to do a winter colour respray to match the body work. Never been satisfied with the way original black ones break up the look of the front end. Will post a photo when done.

I just got a pair of these from Motorworks, new ones not 2nd hand as they didn't have any.
I hope they take a looooooooong time to go brittle...

(sorry if I bought the last pair and you hadn't got round to buying yours yet)

Looks as though you might have! Haha now worries though. I'm sure I can source some at some point. Two other jobs take priority until then. Brake lines need replacing pretty soon and thinking of the stainless steel bolt kit from Shaw Stainless.
