Dual sport tyres on an R12S?

Post by victorlaszlo »

Anyone thought about fitting dual sport winter tyres on your R12S?

Yesterday with temperature around 0 and dry roads I had wheel spins a few time accelerating, and last week when the "Beast from the east" paralysed the country with an inch of snow I was riding to work and could hardly do 20 mph as the rear end was spinning all over the place.

Are there any winter dual sport tyres in R12S size, like these?

Also I have the 6" rear rim which might make it more difficult to find a tyre, if I was investing in a spare set of rims for the winter tyres, is there any compatible R12 bike with narrower rims that would fit?

Just throwing it out there.... Cheers V

Depending On the distance you have to commute , for the price of a set of wheels and tyres you'd probably purchase a cheap trailie , even if it has no better traction at least it'll be easier to pick up when the inevitable happens...
