Winter Tips #97...

Over the years I've had several bikes that have been plagued with freezing ignition locks, and have tried various "cures" graphite spray, WD40, oil, etc etc and always end up having to pour hot water on the lock to free it, which of course adds to the problem.
Last night I had a lightbulb moment and found the cure

I poured some Lagavulin (about a teaspoonful) into the lock ...... 16 year old single malt to the rescue as this morning it was unfrozen

Key smells nice too

Like it
Though I might have been tempted to swill it about in the mouth first then spit it into the lock - just to get some of the flavour out first. Yes, even just a teaspoonful - waste not etc.
