Battery R12S - will 150A cranking do?
The original battery fitted is rated 12V 12Ah 200A (EN). I found a replacement rated 12V 14Ah 150A (EN). Will that work or is it too weak?
Cheers Vic

I don't have a 1200S but afaik the std battery listed (Yuasa catalogue) is Ytx14bs or equivalent which is 200amp cca, they list an uprated one also with 240cca. For me the original 200cca would be the minimum .

Hello Can you please tell me what make and where you got your 300A battery? Mine has always seemed weak in cranking the bike in to life.Cheersvictorlaszlo wrote:Got hold of a 300A cheaply so all goodnab 301 wrote:I don't have a 1200S but afaik the std battery listed (Yuasa catalogue) is Ytx14bs or equivalent which is 200amp cca, they list an uprated one also with 240cca. I got a JMT ytx14h-bs listed for super Duke 1290 but identical in size and terminals to the original. Only annoyance is that it has loose nuts under the terminals rather than threads in the lead as the original but I suppose I'm the long run thats more durable...

Thanks for that , didn't realise it was a Lithium iron battery. Not a big fan as my Optimate won't chare it.

ive a yuasa in mine , and it always spins over fast enough , mind you , mine does live on an optimate ,,, maybe the alarm is pulling your battery down a bit , if its standing about a lot.
its not a boxer , its a 180 degree v-twin

Hi
It was just the number JMT ytx14h-bs is listed as a lithium iron one. All my bikes live on an Optimate. Cheers
