For those who want a sit down meal on the Friday evening I can suggest that it would be wise to pre book. You are all welcome to a meet and greet at Carters Rest in the bar from 9.00pm. For those wanting a sit down meal I can highly recommend the following eateries.
Café Royal 01835 863152
Capon Tree 01835 869596
Stuarts Bistro 01835 268150 (no alcohol license, bring your own, co-op adjacent)
For something more basic,
Carters Rest 01835864745
Indian Restaurant 01835 863503
Forresters 01835 862380

You may want to google these eateries for further information.

Other than the above you have two chippies and two chinese takeaways. Avoid the Chippy opposite the Abbey.

The plan is a group meal on the Saturday evening at The Forresters, Castlegate, I will post up menu choices later so one can pre order.
I will be posting up the EXACT ride for gps purposes once I have double checked the roads.

July 6th ,7th 2018
Location Jedburgh situated on the Route 68 Scottish Borders. Usual Format, meet and greet on the Friday Evening, a spectacular flowing ride through Borderland and a group meal on the Saturday evening. Different locations for everything this time. Take this opportunity to do more of Scotland for a summer biking break!

From the south, m6> a7 m1> a1m, A1> a68 or a696 and for the adventurous, Yorkshire Dales>Middleton on Tees>Alston>Bellingham>kielder> Bonchester Bridge>Jedburgh

From the North Jed is well signposted off the City of Edinburgh bypass.

We have in the heart of town a 14 bedroom fully refurbished Hotel under new ownership still under it`s old name for the moment "The Royal Hotel"
(take no notice of all reviews pre dating 2017, they were all true but it was "wanting" and now history) Off road parking.

Looking forward to meeting old friends and new acquaintances. :)

Chris.

Nice one Chris. I'm in.

Paul.
You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

Sounds brilliant, but alas, that clashes with our Holiday and Julies special birthday celebrations :(

Gutted to have to miss this one but I hope you all have a cracking weekend.

My good friend John and I scoped out a brilliant ride today, for the benefit of you all. Got to be the best ever. approx. 210 miles. loch, reservoirs, beef tubs, glens, rivers and even a Tibetan Monastery.

Importantly uncongested roads.

We are spoilt.

Basecamp Map of route to come shortly, when I have fathomed out the intricacies of my new Garmin software. :?

I have often thought of putting in my fave circulars of the routes in the Borders we have to MCN. Alas I fear for my life if I do as there exists a Fatal Fatwah from the Reivers if anyone should go public

Hi, very new here in fact this is my first post!
Just brought home a bit of a dog 1100s, it’s needs some tlc and a new clutch but if it’s fixed I wondered if a day visit to your gathering would be in order as I only live just south of the border and Jed is on one of my ride outs over the border!

Cheers Stuart
