Front brake hose - issue ? - barback length / supplier ?

Hi all, I trial fitted my barback. As suspected longer hose needed (built 2000, non ABS) bars fitted below yoke from factory.
First issue when re assembling back to standard to enable use of bike I vacuum bled. Could then not get a good feel at lever - just felt odd. On very slow test on drive the brake stayed on sort of. I think hose has collapsed ?
Issue 2. I think a 4" hose length increase should suffice ? Any suggestions who can make hose ? Thank you as always.

Been a while since I did mine, can't remember where I got them from, do a search, been some posts fairly recently.
Edit, got mine from HEL.

Go to Venhill Engineering! Quality parts, great service. Tell them what you need!

I have had kits made for 2 K1200LT's and my 2003 BCR R1100S. Adjustable fittings, stainless ends etc, black outer covering. The kits are SUUUUPERB!

Thanks Paul/Bob, Bob would you recommend a twin line kit (from the master cylinder) ...race I think they call it ? Or something to replicate the original style ? Thanks Andrew

The reason I ask is 'motobins' show an original style - made by Venhill - original length - and wanted this to an increased length. I spoke with Venhills today and they only offered the twin line set up not seemingly aware of the other type ...

Twin line from the bars and get rid of cross pipe that goes over the fork brace, cheaper and less hassle, IMO.

I was fortunate in that, when I asked Venhill for a kit, they had not made one before. On their request, I sent my complete set of front and rear lines which they copied and then gave me the set for the help. So my set is as stock. Bleedingvetc, even with ABS, wasn't an issue other than the rear brake light switch went AWOL and had to be replaced to finish the job. Can take and send pictures if you want, just send me an email address. I am sure if you speak with Venhill they could extend the relevant line(s) to cope with fitting bar backs.

Another vote for Venhill.
I asked for a standard set to suit, but 1.5 inches longer, and they supplied perfectly. Except that the banjo bolts were the wrong type, but they replaced them free of charge.
Superb service. Will happily use them again.

I didn't know (and apparently neither did they) that there was a different style front caliper fitted at some point (I'm sure people here more knowledgeable than I will clarify) but they supplied banjos to suit the 'other' type (probably older, maybe abs?).
I sent them pictures as I couldn't make the fittings 'add up', and they phoned me, discussed, and sent me the right ones (working from the pics I sent them) the next day.
Couldn't really ask for more.

Now that I think about it, I think mine was "de-abs'ed" and I think that was the issue... The set up they had was for the non abs version.

Thanks for the information as getting frustrated. Venhill now sent correct length (I hope) lines and have now requested 90degree banjos ...let's see if this fixes things.
