Amazing how dealers fleece you, and then make it appear that they're doing you a favour.

Oh trust me I know all about that.
I've heard some real horror stories,
Ocean now come out with the customer with a clipboard to note any existing damage before any work can commence.
Your bike can't go into the workshop otherwise.
This is because a few unscrupulous "customers" have tried to blame them for damage they didn't cause.
Yep, there are some real scummy people out there, but whilst some dealers are good (and I class Ocean BMW as exceptionally good), many are out and out cowboys.
Even the one's with big glitzy showrooms.
Example.
A friend of mine bought a Harley Sportster over the phone from an established dealers.
When it arrived he was as pleased as punch, but it didn't ride right.
Long story short, he took it to a local Harley dealership who found that the frame was bent.
It was a damaged repair, but had not gone through the insurance and so was not registered.
Tried to get some recourse through the supplying dealership, who never return his phone calls or answer emails.
The saga continues.
This is a big well established dealership, and not a small back street operation.

Speaking of customers, I heard an amusing story today from the local Triumph dealers I sometimes frequent.
A guy bought a new Triumph Bobber, and a couple of weeks later turned up in a car with a box full of aftermarket parts to leave with them, to be fitted on the first service.
Staff member say's certainly sir, I'll just get you an estimate for fitting.
Customer goes berserk.
He fully expected them to fit everything free of charge, because he bought the bike from them.
Apparently there was a good three hours of work in that box, and the real cheek was that he hadn't bought any of it from them.
He went off in a huff, swearing never to return.
