Gearbox oil and FDU oil...Which ones ?
Hi, another newbie question. I have searched previous questions...still unsure ...Advice please ! exact oil you guys recommend R1100S gearbox and diff. ? Thankyou - help much appreciated. Andrew
Re: Gearbox oil and FDU oil...Which ones ?
The original factory recommended oil is SAE 90 GL , ( correction should read GL5) obviously oils are constantly evolving so I use what's available locally to me which happens to be Eurol Fultrasyn 75w90 GL3/4/5 as listed in their online oil advisor. Re: Gearbox oil and FDU oil...Which ones ?
Just to be clear - do I need a straight oil or an EP ? Thanks again- Andrew
Re: Gearbox oil and FDU oil...Which ones ?
Afaik GL5 is the important bit and GL5 is an EP oil although not all manufacturers print EP on the containers .
As above the BMW workshop manual states SAE 90 GL5 , that's why I posted the link above and checking with other manufacturers they all list similar although don't mention EP. Alternatively Opie oils (in the business section on here) have an advice line /email enquiry section.
