Insurance
So the insurance renewal letter arrived from BMW Motorrad Insurance. How much? A small fortune be to precise. So having the car insured through the RAC I called them and got the full package, including all the add ons for £200 less. The irony is that both are insurance brokers and the actual insurance company is the same used by both.

So when is this 'Old enough to know better' supposed to kick in?

Re: Insurance
I've previously tried 'BMW Motorrad Insurance' for my ST, the premiums were a (very unfunny) joke, and I couldn't see anything that made their cover better than what I found elsewhere. I currently pay under £70 for the year, with a low excess and the usual trimmings, via the AA - BMW's 'scheme' was around £240!! Go figure.

Re: Insurance
Can anyone recommend a good provider of multi bike policies ?
BMW used to insure the most expensive bike and then charge £10 per £10000 value on any additional BMW bikes which worked well for me.
They don't do that anymore and are asking for just short of a grand for my stable of 4 BMWs

I have 4 bikes on the one policy, 07 K1200GT, 14 R1200RT, 03 BoxerCup and the 14 F800GS. My policy is just under £300 per year with the protected NCB and the RAC recovery . Which I think for the combined value of the bikes is a fair premium to be honest

Re: Insurance
Thanks Steve, I've just got an online quote, they won't cover the HP4 but for everything else it's a little over £400 which is good.
I've managed to find another policy elsewhere for the HP4 with zero no claims discount as I'll use that on the multi bike at around £200.
So combined it's over £300 cheaper than BMW's multi bike policy.
I'll have to wait for their offices to open on Monday to find the catch !
Cheers

Last year I hit "something" in the outside lane of the M6 that put a dent in my front wheel on my RT, I was dreading claiming as I thought with them being "cheap" they'll give me the run around . To be fair it was simple, work gave me a wheel and tyre quote and within 24 hours the insurers sent the authorisation through .... sorted
