As I was wide awake bright and early this morning, I watched the first episode - I know Clarkson is very 'Marmite'! - and it was very good indeed, I thought. Some cracking cars, the usual banter....but quite a bit of the humour goes over the Yanks' heads! Sooo much better than the Beeb's attempt at a reincarnation of TG!

Should I or just spend it the usual ways as in ChatCams etc ?
Anyone know what language this is? Normal translation does not work.

I currently have Netflix and Spotify. The music offering on Amazon looks lacking compared to Spotify, so that leaves me dumping Netflix. How does the video content compare between Netflix and Amazon?
I watched it last night. If you liked the old style TG, then you will have no unpleasant surprises here. Well worth a look if you have Amazon Prime. It made me laugh. Probably not worth the cost of Prime alone tho', if you've not been tempted so far.
cheers,
Paul
You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

Well, we've had Amazon Video at £6.99 (?) a month for the last year or so - there's a fair bit of stuff on there that we watch, and it does seem to have better content than Netflix, which we moved from, so getting The Grand Tour thrown in is a real bonus. I don't know if its worth the monthly subs though if that's all your going to watch! I enjoyed it, my Mrs and daughter did too, a few proper laughs, the same banter between them...TG revisited really, I bet the Beeb are kicking themselves!

I'm sure the BBC would have liked to have kept TG going with those three. However; what do they actually have to kick themselves about? To do so would imply they made a mistake or did something wrong. No?

I meant that the revamped Beeb version of TG was crap, that's all! And I do realise that that's a subjective opinion!

Personally, I don't think it was crap but of course we are used to ten years of something and it's difficult to get away from that. The ne one wasn't 'great' but then the last 3 or more series with 'the three' wasn't either. I had got to the stage over the past few years of ff ing through a lot of it and I honestly thought it almost not worth bothering with anymore. It needed a shake up and it got one. Just in time I feel. I think the majority of people that hated on c evans did so just because they are haters and don't understand that if you assault someone in he workplace you are going to get the sack for it. I liked Leblanc and I don't think it's a 'bad' show. Certainly no worse than the last few series. It still has to find its feet and don't forget TG with 'the three' had lower ratings than the 'new' TG when it started. The new one still has to find its feet and this time there are a lot of small minded idiots on social media to deal with which the old one never had in the beginning.
None of it is a bad thing. We now have 'two' motoring shows!
Until the decidedly average 5th gear turns up again...

Unless they're professional footballers.
I was a huge fan of the old top gear.
I watched the first of the revamped episodes and found it painful.
I do feel sorry for the new presenters, because the BBC decided foolishly to superimpose them onto the Clarkson, May, Hammond format.
That was never going to work.
I felt embarrassed for the guys.
Perhaps if they had revamped the whole show, as well as the presenters, it may have worked.

Well, I for one didn't like him because I thought he was totally unsuited to the role........not because of anything to do with the circumstances under which he got the job/because of the way in which his predecessor ended his tenure on the show. Evans must have thought himself that he wasn't ever so good too - he walked!
I quite like Evans on the radio and TGI. I think if he had started from scratch with his own car show and played to his strengths, which is live TV and improvisation I think it would have been a much better show.
Instead, he followed the old top gear format, which meant the only difference was the personnel, and he was found lacking compared to JC.
I really enjoyed The Grand Tour. Enough of the old show, mixed with a big budget and a fresh dose of energy.
Well I'd love to see it but where I live we have no superfast broadband, it runs just over old dial up speed.
SKY tv is so poor as is free view ( no signals)
free sat just gives you basic channels and they go off at will.
even mobile signals for phones only work at text level every now and then
I'll have to wait for boxed dvd sets
But I haven't had a single ppi call in three years
Ahh the upside
Live for today

Both programmes are not what I would subscribe to individually. I enjoyed TG as it was included in my license fee. I never saw one episode with Evans even though certain genders said it was fantastic just for Matt Le Blanc.
No plans to subscribe to Amazon.
Clarkson is a likeable Oaf, very humorous. Typically a Yorkshire twat.
