Vinyl Repair

I'm looking for something to repair some big rips (2-3") and general degradation in the seat of our mower - grateful for all suggestions! After 15 years' (ab)use it's looking seriously tatty and getting steadily worse.

Many products available on Amazon etc but it's hard to get a feel for what actually does the job.

Thanks so much, J

I'm not sure what shape a mower seat is but I saw a good budget repair done on a bike seat with some old flexothane waterproof gear cut to size....

Thanks - food for thought. I've already tried the bodge tape route - the rest of the house is held together with the stuff after all :D , but it doesn't stick very well and then dies. I'll have a look at M/works patches though... J

Maybe, but it still bugs me! I guess I could wait until it completely falls apart then do a proper job with a whole roll of bodge tape and some potato sacks... It would be well in keeping and might even be comfier!

You can usually get seats re-covered for less than £50, why not pay someone to re-upholster it?

You know that hadn't even occurred to me! I'll ask around. Meanwhile the Motorworks patches might do the job - they'd certainly keep the bodge tape look...

Silver duct tape will give you an authentic 1970 club racer look, you could tape up your gardening boots to complete the look

Ho ho, we're already on that one - 'cept we prefer black 'cos it's not only cheaper but faster!
