Throttle cable

Tried to get the throttle twist griptube off, seems very complicated with 4 screws, 2 steel, one aluminium one self tapper! Got em all out and tugged the tube off. Bugger forgot the heater grip cable and snapped the lead. Out with the soldering iron and fixed it up again. While it was off I managed to squirt some GT 85 down the cable which has stopped it sticking open. I have a printout of the shop manual but couldn't find any info on stripping the throttle cable out of the housing. Is the Haynes manual useful for this? Anyone have one for sale?

Clymer is good but covers various models so tends to jump about a bit

Throttle snaps back nice now. Especially after a couple of washers to space the bar end off

Riding along nicely, bar end drops off (at worse) or becomes loose. I am thinking you should have a specific size washer there and possibly a wee bit of thread lock. Probably not having the specific washer was the cause of stiff throttle action ? jus sayin

Only just got the bike mate, and the bar end has gone back on with thread lock

Yes I know, I read the post. Was trying to be helpful.
The throttle cables on the S are non lube types. You will (generally) only get problems with these at the exposed portions. Which are visible.
