assuming they'd knock you 2 or 300 off then it's what £800 more? Doesn't require all the faffing about or the 500 mile round trip from Heysham to Chigwell to get it (plus you may get to Chigwell and discover something nasty the seller's not mentioned)
Just my two pennarth

I think that damaged one even at £3400 is too much. That bodywork is more than just paint, the levers and bar ends need replacing, the screen is gone, the brake light is smashed, the cylinder head covers need replacing. And god knows what else we can't see. Given that the one steve found for an extra £800 (once you've squeezed them for a deal) and I've seen a couple this year that 'haven't' been thrown down the road for low to mid fours I personally wouldn't touch it for more than £2500.

that's way too much - on top of the one Steve found, there was also a colgate one for sale here earlier in the year with sports pack and was only £4000 cos the front shock was leaking - I don't think I would pay more than £2000 (and I've got nearly a full set of panels)
The one Steve found could also get knocked down a bit cos the pipes are skanky

You could get a perfect, spotless low mileage 11S with extras for £3k. Just be patient and the right one will come up.
That 12S is massively overpriced for the amount of damage it has and if it's been in an accident it may well cause issues later on with insurance.

It's definitely overpriced, but Ebay Classifieds generally are. Left to an open auction, the prices are more realistic. A recent Sports Model with Ohlins went for only £3600:

On that basis, a standard one with damage would be a lot less than both what he's asking and what he'll take.
Take into account the potential unseen damage and the tie-rap hiding up near the headstock, and I'd be thinking in the £2000 range too.
It would be a perfect track bike, but not for £3000+.

Agree with the two bods above.
I suppose the 12S has a front support frame for the fairings, like the 11S, that can potentially be expensive to replace + other interesting ruined things you can find under those fairings.
From the damage I also assume the bike cartwheeled or got stuck sideways against a car...
