Wheel colour

Post by nab 301 »

I've asked on the VFR forum , but the more the merrier.. Wheels are in a shockingly poor state , so, when I get around to repair , should I stick with OE white or go black , silver, gold , red or something else?
Thanks,

Well, as I think you said there was no plan for a full-blown restoration, I reckon gold would look pretty good. 2nd choice - black; always the safe fall back. Definitely NOT white - it's so 'white stilettos'. Just my tupenny worth.

Clean white wheels look the nuts. Gold can be a bit wishy washy, especially with red bodywork I think unless it's quite a dark gold but I still prefer white. Did I mention that I like white wheels.

Can't just leave it at that - far too one-sided :D

Had a rethink: black would look pretty awful actually
Silver would be safe as houses.
Gold wheels, on a red Honda - perfick.
White? That's for cheap garden furniture and 1983 MG Maestros with matching bumpers and plastic wheel trims...

red wheels on a red bike with quite a lot of bodywork would be too much imo. matt black would look almost as awful. like one of those footballer/banker range rovers/BMW X6 with a light colour bodywork and mat black wheels. i would still go for the beautiful untouchable glorious white, or silver or gold. i had a cbr400rr a long time ago in r/w/b with white wheels and it was pukka.

Hi nab

I think you can photoshop or something like that and edit the pic to try different colours on the photo that way you can see all the colours before you decide

Just dont ask me how to do it i have seen it done but you need to be far better than me with a computer

Have fun Dai
