..... but in a car Finally I have bought a replacement for the Honda CRX out here ... forget the 'Jestsons' I am old enough (as many of you are I suspect) to remeber 'Supercar' from children's TV way back when !
...and the car in question a Subaru SVX with the afore mentioned engine in 3.3l capacity awd. This is a 1992 car so pre World Rally championship domination and the car appears to be tuned for long distance travel which is what is planed, all over Europe in next 5 years or so. Whisper quite on the autobahn, awd seemingly 'tuned' for safety not all out tarmac ripping performance; it is apparently a heavy car , not that I have noticed, and at 230bhp and more of those "Jeremy Clarkson 'torques'" is only 14 bhp down on a Porsche 964 C4 which was around at the same time (i.e. pre 993) not explosive but pdq Luxury too; most of the online reports seem to be from USA and there opinion is that it had all the bells and whistles as the top Lexus of the time all in all a great car so far and a 'boxer' to boot.
I have a liking for boxer engines too. I have been through a Subaru Legacy Twin Scroll Import 4 pot and now am on a flat 6 3.0L Outback which I like immensely and is a bit of a sleeper.
Lots of info on www.uklegacy.com who like the 6 pot engines in general
Best regards,
David

More snow today at under 700m, really like this car so far; assured stability in all weathers but of course running winter tyres out here by law. Currently the tyres that came with the car are chunkier in the tread with 'snoflake' logos on side wall which my previous car's winter tyres did not have. Not an expert on this by no means but I assume previous tyres were 'bog standard' winter tyres whils the current 'snow tyres' ? noisy enough to be anyhow engine just seems to pur, quite a sporty rorty from the exaust but not too noisy unlike many WRX STI's about. I assume this can be tiring on a long trip? I have an A8 back in UK which is my 'keeper' due to ali frame and when I finally return from this mountainous idil I will be using winter tires on that if the temp ever gets below 7 degrees. Any all weather bikers use seasonal tires on their mounts?
