What to look for when buying a Boxercup
Some of you will have seen my posts about an intention to buy a new R1200RS. Well, revised plans now as I have the option to buy a very good Boxercup, '04 plate, only 5000 miles (validated by MOT certificates and original bill of sale !!), two owners and in excellent condition.
I don't doubt the owner but what should I look out for to ensure that it's genuine?
Also, it has a strange pipe with a rubber bung on the end, hanging loose down onto the top of the swinging arm just near the power socket - any ideas what it is?
Thanks

Does the original bill of sale - not give you sufficient confidence?
The seat profile is unique to the Mk2 BCR - it is not the "scooped out" design which is fitted to all other R1100s (and Mk1 BCR). If a bike claimed to be a BCR, and wasn't - the seat is likely to be the first anomaly (IMO)

If I am ever on life support - Unplug me......
Then plug me back in..........
See if that works .....

A photo to help
Many thanks for the swift response.
Yes, it does give confidence.

Exhaust headers
It's down to my poor photography as they are both blue to roughly the same extent.
Asking price - more than it's probably worth but with such low mileage it was too good to miss.

Order online, have it fitted locally.
