The first new bike I've ever bought. It replaces my trusty 11S.
First Impressions:
Light, quick steering.
Firm suspension, not too much dive.
Excellent fuelling.
Lots of umph even at running in speeds.
Feels low geared, but really isn't.
Very slick gearbox.
Seat hard, but suprisingly comfy.
Riding position kind to the knees.
I'm not usually one to name vehicles, but the lass at the insurance company read the docs and called her a BMW Ninette.

Still not a fan of the rear end but I think I could live with one. Overall a nice bit of kit. Maybe a used one in a year or two. You must be chuffed. I too am slightly jealous.

Thanks chaps. At first I was worried that it was a bit style over substance, and I do have a bit of a soft spot for a looker, but there's a good bike underpinning the hype. It seems to be doing 50mpg-ish at less that 5,000 rpm. Thats 170-180 miles to the warning light.
I've not had a new,new bike before, so I'm not past the getting it dirty stage yet.
There's a world of mods available, but most are cosmetic. I must be getting old, but although the dealer suggested that the baffles are removable, at the moment I'm leaning towards leaving them in!
A flyscreen and removal of the diving board numberplate bracket will probably suffice.
But then Nippy Norm has a 90S style fairing, it needs a hugger, the exhaust valve thingy neads to go... Oh and it could probably do with some rim-tape eh?

If you hear a "whooshing" noise............
You secretly covet rim-tape - I just know it..........
RoLoo had the best-looking of all the Mamola BoxerCups - and it was his choice of red rim-tape that got it there..........

Out of interest ..how much dismantling to access air/oil/fuel filters? BMW improving in that respect?..now with a gold (to pick up forks) or white rim tape

Nice. I was impressed when I saw one in the flesh at the bike show last year.

Very nice. At first I was not sure but its grown on me.... I,m tempted by a test ride but afraid of the costly outcome. One for the future.
